ExpoForum Looks for New Construction Materials
On October 29, representatives from ExpoForum visited the Finnish factory, Finnforest, which makes Kerto construction materials. The factory is located not far from the city of Punkaharju in Finland. The representatives were studying opportunities for using modern and environmentally-safe materials for advanced structural engineering construction.
Kerto is a highly-durable wooden material produced from 3mm thick softwood veneers. Kerto is highly stable and prevents vibrations in the floor and wall elements, even across large spaces. In addition, Kerto is highly fire-resistant, and unlike metallic materials it does not rust.
ExpoForum representatives learned more about the manufacturing of Kerto materials, and visited the Joensuu Arena, which was built with it.
Ivan Klyukin, a design engineer at ExpoForum, remarked that Kerto is best used in sites with an aggressive environment - pools, aqua parks, and other water complexes. For instance, the material can be used to build a SPA complex in one of the hotels that will be built on the territory of the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. Kerto is also interesting from the point of view of interior decorating.
