Nanotechnology Forum Serves as a Place for Effective Dialogue
Top managers from ExpoForum jsc visited the Third International Nanotechnology Forum RUSNANOTECH 2010, which took place Nov. 1 to 3 in Moscow.
The Forum’s opening ceremony was presided over by Sergei Ivanov, First Deputy Prime Minister, and who also serves as chairman of the RUSNANOTECH 2010 organizing committee. Other top guests include Anatoly Chubais, general director, ROSNANO; Zhores Alferov, vice-president of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a Nobel Prize winner; and Steve Balmer, general director of Microsoft.
Russian President Dmitri Medvedev opened the plenary meeting of the Third International Nanotechnology Forum. He remarked that, ``our goal is not to create several very large companies to produce high-tech items, but to organize a fully-fledged nanotechnology industry.’’
During the forum Alexei Miller, chairman of Gazprom jsc, and Anatoly Chubais, general director of ROSNANO, signed a protocol of cooperation. The agreement establishes the main directions for both companies to expand the use of nanotechnology in the natural gas industry.
``This forum was the ideal place for a dialogue between the state, business, and science,’’ said Anatoly Erkulov, ExpoForum general director. ``Many investment agreements and contracts were signed, important people from all over the world made presentations, and high-ranking government officials also participated. This is precisely the level on which such conventions should take place in order to be highly effective.’’
Today the Fifth International OIL TERMINAL 2010 congress and exhibition opened. The topic is the transport, storage, and loading of oil, liquefied gas, and petroleum products. Participants include Ust Luga Company OJSC, whose stand was built by ExpoForum JSC.
ExpoForum JSC received approval from state health authorities for the construction site where the future convention and exhibition centre (CEC) will be built.

On December 3 in the Lenexpo exhibition centre, the annual results for St. Petersburg’s exhibition industry will be announced. ExpoForum JSC and Lenexpo OJSC, who became partners in 2010, are the event's organizers.
The specialized exhibition and conference ``St. Petersburg Exhibition Industry,’’ opened today. ExpoForum spoke at the plenary meeting with a report titled, ``St. Petersburg’s Potential as a Convention Destination Through 2020.’’

On October 29, representatives from ExpoForum visited the Finnish factory, Finnforest, which makes Kerto construction materials. The factory is located not far from the city of Punkaharju in Finland. The representatives were studying opportunities for using modern and environmentally-safe materials for advanced structural engineering construction.
