ExpoForum Turns 3 Years Old
On January 18 ExpoForum JSC marked its third birthday. The company was founded to create and build a new international convention and exhibition centre in St. Petersburg.
In the past three years, plans for the convention and exhibition centre have passed from the inception of an idea to the commencement of construction on the site of the future complex. Also, the convention and exhibition centre has become known not only in Russia, but abroad and continues to actively grow.
``Our company's main achievement is that its project ceased to be something only on paper, and it's now becoming a reality. In addition, it's stimulating the development of the transport and engineering infrastructure in the greater surrounding area,'' said ExpoForum general director, Anatoly Erkulov. ``This year we'll see work begin on the Petersburg Highway, which calls for widening it and building new interchanges. We also plan to increase the engineering capacity on this territory. The opening of the convention and exhibition centre will be one of the key factors in the development of the events and meetings industry in St. Petersburg.''
ExpoForum specialists attended imm cologne, one of the largest furniture exhibitions in Europe, in the hopes of learning more about the functioning of exhibitions working at full capacity.
ExpoForum JSC joined two self-regulating associations: NP Northwest Alliance of Project Designers, and NP Construction Companies Association of St. Petersburg. This will allow ExpoForum to carry out both building project design and construction.
On January 13 ExpoForum JSC began removal of the existing engineering infrastructure, and began to prepare the ground for the new infrastructure on the territory of the new convention and exhibition centre which will open in 2013.
The City Committee for Energy and Engineering Infrastructure approved a gas boiler system for the future ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.
