ExpoForum is Learning from Koelnmesse
ExpoForum specialists attended imm cologne, one of the largest furniture exhibitions in Europe, in the hopes of learning more about the functioning of exhibitions working at full capacity.
This year, imm cologne, which took place from January 18 to 23 at the Koelnmesse expo center, was combined with another furniture exhibition, LivingKitchen. This gave the exhibition better results than before. For instance, the number of visitors rose 38% over 2010, for a total of 138,000. The number of exhibitors increased 15% and totalled 1,213 companies. The exhibition had a total space of 280,000 square meters.
Anatoly Erkulov, ExpoForum general director, emphasized that his expert team's visit to such a large-scale event was a very useful experience. They became acquainted with logistics, technologies, and engineering solutions in real-time. ``We are studying the best of Europe's venues in order to apply such knowledge and experience to the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre,'' said Erkulov.
On January 18 ExpoForum JSC marked its third birthday. The company was founded to create and build a new international convention and exhibition centre in St. Petersburg.
ExpoForum JSC joined two self-regulating associations: NP Northwest Alliance of Project Designers, and NP Construction Companies Association of St. Petersburg. This will allow ExpoForum to carry out both building project design and construction.
On January 13 ExpoForum JSC began removal of the existing engineering infrastructure, and began to prepare the ground for the new infrastructure on the territory of the new convention and exhibition centre which will open in 2013.
The City Committee for Energy and Engineering Infrastructure approved a gas boiler system for the future ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.
