ExpoForum joined the Russian Union Exhibitions and Fairs
On December 14-16 a general meeting of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF) was held in Nizhny Novgorod, at which ExpoForum JSC became a member of this professional association.
ExpoForum executive director Sergey Voronkov presented the construction project of the new convention and exhibition centre in St. Petersburg, and he spoke about the recent acquisition of the Lenexpo JSC exhibition portfolio. He emphasized that these two events will open a new page in the history of St. Petersburg's exhibition business.
RUEF president Sergey Alexeev, who until December 19 was Lenexpo general director, said he would assume the position of ExpoForum vice-president and would supervise communications with professional associations as well as international cooperation. At the shareholders meeting it was decided to appoint Sergey Voronkov general director of Lenexpo starting December 19.
RUEF unites the leading national exhibition organisers, owners of exhibition complexes and enterprises in order to promote the exhibition business. It is an established association of professionals in the exhibition industry, and is comprised of 29 exhibition centres with a total indoor exhibition area of over 550,000 sq.m. This means almost 1200 shows annually in 40 cities, with about 130,000 participants from 110 countries, and which covers nearly 2 million square meters of exhibition area. It is constantly developing infrastructure, and improving the technical base. In 2011, the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs celebrated its 20th anniversary.
