A New Event for the Gas and Oil Industry Will Premier in St. Petersburg in 2012
The first International Forum of Educational and Scientific Institutions of the Oil and Gas Industry will take place in St. Petersburg in 2012. It will be held during the St. Petersburg Natural Gas Forum that is scheduled for June 7-9, 2012.
A draft programme for the event will be developed by ExpoForum, Gazprom Gas Distribution OJSC, and the Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
On July 4 there was a meeting between the Chinese and Russian sides. The Chinese delegation was comprised of deputy chairman of the Committee for Economic Cooperation, Mrs. Ching Po, as well as deputy general secretaries, Ms. Wang Ping Liu, and Mr. Yang. The Russian side was represented by Gazprom Gas Distribution general director, Sergei Gustov, ExpoForum’s general director, Anatoly Erkulov, and ExpoForum’s head of the department for cooperation with Asian countries, Igor Pozdnyakov. Both sides confirmed a mutual interest in the joint development of the first International Forum of Educational and Scientific Institutions of the Oil and Gas Industry that will take place in St. Petersburg in 2012.
In addition, they also discussed the issue of holding conventions in 2014 at ExpoForum’s new exhibition centre. These included the World Congress of the Chinese People's partner Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, as well as prospects for involving ExpoForum in organizing convention and exhibition programs for the presentation of Fujian province in Russia. Mrs. Ching Po invited Russian partners to take part in the anticipated closer cooperation with Gazprom Gas Distribution and ExpoForum in efforts to strengthen strategic partnership between Russia and China.
From July 7 to 9, ExpoForum specialists took part in a study seminar in Gdansk (Poland) organized by the ICCA (International Conventions and Conferences Association) dedicated to research, sales and marketing in the events industry.
