Bioindustry 2012 Exhibition Draws to a Close
At the closing ceremony, prizes were awarded to the winners of the Innovative Biotechnology Solutions contest.
“This year there were 86 participating organisations from Russia, three from Belarus, one from Kazakhstan, and three from Tajikistan, as well as two scientific research groups from Germany. In all, 43 scientific reports were heard during the conference”, said Emilia Kolomiets, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, summing up the exhibition and conference during the closing ceremony. After thanking the participants, she expressed hope that the exhibition would be even larger next year.
At the end of the event, a resolution was passed which included the decision to address the Integration Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community on the expediency of developing a special international ‘Innovative Biotechnologies’ programme, covering the period 2016 to 2020.
Summing up the results of the Innovative Biotechnology Solutions contest, both the Bioindustry 2012 organisers and the jury noted changes in the of type of work presented. Last year it was the agricultural theme which dominated, whereas this year 73 competition entries were on issues relating to veterinary science, biomedicine, and bioproducts. Gold and silver medals were awarded to research teams from Voronezh, Vladimir, Moscow, St Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Bryansk, Perm, and Yakutsk. The top prize, established in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, was awarded to a team from the Kazan National Research Technological University for their work entitled ‘New Dimexin-based Medications for Use in Human and Veterinary Medicine’.
Today saw the opening of an exhibition of creative work by pupils from military schools across Russia, organised by the Department of Education of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

Bioindustry 2012 and СInnovative Biotechnologies in the Countries of the Eurasian Economic Community
