Theory and practice of milling in production today
Specialists from DMG Russland will demonstrate an effective combination of performance and the latest technologies.
On 28–29 November, visitors to Pavilion 5a at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex will be able to see a DMU 65 FD mB milling machine, which is approximately 3 metres tall and weighs more than 10 tonnes. This will be the first appearance of a DMU 65 FD mB milling machine in St Petersburg. This innovative development by DMG is bound to provoke high levels of interest among industrial engineers.
The machine is second to none in terms of technical features: a turning and milling workbench with DirectDrive technology, a mill rotary speed of up to 1,200 rev./min., a 35 kW spindle motor (18,000 rev./min.), and it is also equipped with a HSK-A63 cone. The maximum work piece dimensions for the machine are Ø650[A1] х 500 mm, with a maximum weight of 600 kg.
DMG Russland, together with its partners SIEMENS, SIEMENS PLM, SCHUNK, LMT, and HORN, will share their experience and knowledge with participants at a special workshop for manufacturers about high-performance processing on the DMU 65 mB FD milling machine.
During the workshop, participants will be shown the stage-by-stage process of manufacturing a part that has been designed especially for this event, beginning with the programming phase, choice of tools, accessories, and ending with the final processing. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the production chain in modern manufacturing not just in theory, but also in practice.
