Youth Wave Sweeps Lenexpo
Young entrepreneurs, artists, volunteers, athletes, and academics met at this major youth forum.
On 8 and 9 December, the Lenexpo exhibition complex hosted the 6th International Youth Forum, Youth Wave 2012. The Forum was divided into nine interactive zones on different themes: business, employment, intellect, art, sport, media, youth autonomy, a social area, and a section for regional administrative authorities. All zones operated simultaneously, and featured meetings with employers, master classes on self-presentation and career planning, and discussions about self-education and using social networks as a marketing tool.
In addition, the Forum featured the final part of the Russia-wide film festival Russian Elementary Cinema, welcoming broadcasters, directors, cameramen, independent film experts, animation artists, and advertising specialists. In the business zone young hopefuls presented their projects, with the chance to receive prizes and grants of between RUB 50,000 and 300,000 from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. Candidates for the Governor of St. Petersburg Youth Panel also presented their ideas on how to develop the city. The final round of the KVN Golden Fir Cone student comedy festival also took place, and was won by the team from Herzen University.
The Youth Wave Forum also attracted the younger generations: as part of a careers programme for St. Petersburg schoolchildren, the event organisers, ExpoForum, ran a tour entitled "My Vocation is…" for 16 and17 year olds at high school No. 227.
On 20 February 2013 ExpoForum will launch a new project for exhibitors: special educational seminars which will help exhibition participants to intelligently prepare for events and assess their impact.
The company opens an office in the Pacific Rim
The Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, told the 10th Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum that the city would support businesses that produced high-tech goods and created ultra-modern jobs with decent salaries.
The new-format ExpoPetersburg exhibition and convention was a resounding success: participants expressed their appreciation for the project, which enabled them to communicate in a common language, and without intermediaries.
On 5 December, the Russian exposition at the international exhibition of production equipment and materials, Manufacturing Indonesia, was officially opened at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.
On 12 December 2012, a roundtable on the subject of New Opportunities for Developing Small Business Through Clustering. Co-operation in Manufacturing, will be held at the Lenexpo exhibition complex (pavilion 7, hall 7.2), as part of the Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Representatives of industry, higher education, and research institutions are to meet at Lenexpo Exhibition Complex to discuss cross-border partnership opportunities with EU countries.
A subcontractorsТ networking platform has been organised for the first time as part of the X СSmall and Medium-Sized EnterprisesТ Forum.
