Innovations in business on show at Lenexpo exhibition
The Governor of St. Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, told the 10th Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum that the city would support businesses that produced high-tech goods and created ultra-modern jobs with decent salaries.
At Lenexpo on 12 and 13 December, the 10th St. Petersburg Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum and the St. Petersburg Small-Scale Business exhibition were held. 264 companies displayed their products across a space of over 1300 square metres.
The Governor of Saint Petersburg, Georgy Poltavchenko, made a tour of the exhibition and examined the innovations on display from the city’s 18 districts. ‘The city’s potential allows us to progress in the field of production,’ he stated, pointing out that small business is becoming more and more important in the economy of Saint Petersburg. At the present time, over 50% of all Saint Petersburg government contracts go to small and medium-sized businesses. Speaking at the plenary session, Mr. Poltavchenko awarded letters of thanks to the winners of the city-wide Best Entrepreneur in St. Petersburg competition.
As part of the forum’s business programme, 8 round-table seminars were held, where many issues were discussed, including consumer market problems, staffing policies in small and medium-sized businesses, new opportunities for cluster development of small business, etc. For the first time, a subcontractors’ networking platform was organised and more than 150 enterprises took part in it. Representatives of small and medium-sized business could establish productive and cooperative relationships with many of the city’s large businesses, including Severnaya Verf Shipyard, GM Auto and others.
The role of small business in the economy and the tasks facing small enterprises connected with integration into the modern industrial structure attracted over 3,000 visitors to the forum and exhibition.
The 10th Saint Petersburg Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum and the St. Petersburg Small-Scale Business exhibition were organised by the St. Petersburg Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, the Public Council on Small Business Development under the auspices of the Governor of St. Petersburg, and ExpoForum.
On 20 February 2013 ExpoForum will launch a new project for exhibitors: special educational seminars which will help exhibition participants to intelligently prepare for events and assess their impact.
The company opens an office in the Pacific Rim
Young entrepreneurs, artists, volunteers, athletes, and academics met at this major youth forum.
The new-format ExpoPetersburg exhibition and convention was a resounding success: participants expressed their appreciation for the project, which enabled them to communicate in a common language, and without intermediaries.
On 5 December, the Russian exposition at the international exhibition of production equipment and materials, Manufacturing Indonesia, was officially opened at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.
On 12 December 2012, a roundtable on the subject of New Opportunities for Developing Small Business Through Clustering. Co-operation in Manufacturing, will be held at the Lenexpo exhibition complex (pavilion 7, hall 7.2), as part of the Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises.
Representatives of industry, higher education, and research institutions are to meet at Lenexpo Exhibition Complex to discuss cross-border partnership opportunities with EU countries.
