The Baltic Marine Festival has grown by 25% compared to the year 2011
May, 31 in Lenexpo, there was open the Baltic Marine Festival which has became not only a meeting place for professionals of the maritime industry, but also a bright holiday for all the citizens and tourists. The first event of the festival was the parade of yachts and boats which was attended by the representatives of the major media of St. Petersburg.
The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on transport-transit policy of the St. Petersburg Government Pavel Rezvushkin, the President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Katenev, a representative of the Administration of Vasileostrovsky district of St. Petersburg Karina Koroleva, the Vice-President of ExpoForum and the President of the Yachting Union of St. Petersburg Sergey Alekseev, the Executing Director of ExpoForum and the General Director of Lenexpo Sergey Voronkov as well as other distinguished guests.
On behalf of the Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg Sergei Vyazalov, Pavel Rezvushkin welcomed the participants and guests. He noted that Peter the I had created St. Petersburg as the marine capital and at the present time the city executives were doing their best to strengthen the image of St. Petersburg as a marine and yachting centre. The historical theme was also supported by Sergey Alekseev: ‘It’s in St Petersburg that the first yacht club in the world history was opened by Peter the I. It’s therefore quite natural that maritime traditions are being revived today in our city, and the Baltic Marine Festival strongly contributes to this revival.’
According to Sergey Voronkov, since the previous year the festival exposition has grown by 25%. This time it presents 140 new models of boats and cruiser boats. There are more than 100 participants from Russia, Estonia, Finland, France Germany, Holland, Poland and Slovakia. This year the project was approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry UFI confirming with this its high status. Apart from it Sergey Voronkov on behalf of the festival organiser ExpoForum thanked for the support all those who had participated in the organisation. Thanks to this cooperation there was created this project significant for development of the maritime business in St. Petersburg.
The Baltic Marine Festival continues the traditions of the international specialised yacht exhibition ‘Boat Show. St. Petersburg’. Today the festival programme includes not only expositions but also business and entertainment events. With the opening of the festival the water area of the exhibition complex Lenexpo has become the central venue of spectacular events. The water programme of the festival was opened with a parade of yachts and cruiser boats attended by the journalists of NTV, Russia, Russian Travel guide, Mir and other media.
June, 2 the fans of sea and sailing are expected to see a bright water show provided by the company ‘Army of Sport’ presenting the Jetlev flyer device. Among other activities there is a traditional international competition on ship modeling. An ecological activity coinciding with the International Day of clean water has been for the second time an integral part of the festival programme. The experienced divers will work to clean the bottom of the Galerny fairway. The aim is to attract the attention of St. Petersburg citizengs to the problems of environmental protection.
The Baltic Marine Festival takes place from May, 31 to June, 3 in the exhibition complex Lenexpo.

June 2 ExpoForum with the support of the Administration of Vasileostrovsky district, the Russian Geographical Society and the city diving clubs, organises an ecological action, timed to coincide with International Day for Biological Diversity.

TRANSTEC’2012, an international transport exhibition, and the III International Conference on Port and Shipping Development were included in the event schedule of the Marine Board under the RF Government and the exhibition plan of the Russian Ministry of Transport for 2012. Both the exhibition and the conference will take place in Lenexpo on October 2-4, 2012. The organisers are Transtec Neva Exhibitions, which is 30% owned by ExpoForum, and East West Exhibition Management ltd/Dolphin Exhibitions ltd.
On May 23, ExpoForum officially announced the launch of its new congress and exhibition project – “Russian International Energy Forum”. The first forum shall take place already in 2013 at Lenexpro and unite the leading industry events held in Saint Petersburg in its structure.

About 70 citizens of Pushkin addressed the staff of the archive of the Military Medicine Museum in order to learn the fate of their relatives who had been lost during the Great Patriotic War. The charitable action devoted to the Victory Day was arranged by ExpoForum jointly with the Military Medicine Museum and the administration of Pushkin Region.
Hipposphere, an international horse exhibition, opened at LenExpo on May 4. The participants cut the symbolic red ribbon right on the manege arranged in the exhibition hall.
ExpoForum together with the administration of the Pushkin district and the Military and Medical Museum will hold a charity event on May 7 and 8. In Pushkin city, there will be opened a temporary public office of the Military and Medical museum archives with some materials of the Great Patriotic War.
