Less than ten days to go before the opening of the Agrorus 2012 International Exhibition and Trade

The 21st Agrorus International Agricultural Exhibition and Trade Fair will be held at Lenexpo from 27 August to 2 September. One of the biggest exhibitions in Russia, according to established tradition the event will include displays, indoor and outdoor trade stands, a wide-ranging business programme and a lively entertainment programme.

Around 1500 companies from countries including Belarus, Germany, India, China, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Finland will display their products. Agrorus traditionally encompasses all aspects of the agricultural industry – farm machinery, agricultural chemistry and biotechnology, livestock, poultry and fish farming, agricultural produce, house-building, farming equipment, food and drink products, and much more.

The largest and most varied display comes courtesy of Leningrad Region, a long-standing Agrorus participant. This exhibit, featuring 16 districts and more than 300 different agricultural businesses from the Leningrad Region, will be held in Pavilion 7, over an area of 2,500 square metres. Another key display is the shared stand run by the Administration of the Pskov Region, covering approximately 100 square metres. Exhibitors on this stand include: Pskovskiy Gormolzavod (the Pskov city milk factory), Pskovskiy Molochniy Kombinat (the Pskov milk factory), the Pskov Research Institute of Agriculture of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Pskovskiy Khlebokombinat (the Pskov bakery) and Ptitsefabrika Pskovskaya (the Pskov poultry factory).

The central event of the business programme will be a conference entitled ‘Innovative Technology in Agriculture as the Basis for the Implementation of the Government Programme for Agricultural Development and Regulation of the Agricultural Produce, Raw Materials and Food Markets 2013–2020’, which will take place WHEN AND WHERE? Agrorus will also feature seminars, conferences and round table events on the most pressing issues facing the agricultural sector, a job fair for specialists in the agriculture and food industries, and a number of industry-specific competitions (including Best Farm, Best Results in Pedigree and Commercial Livestock Breeding, and Best Family-Run Cattle Farm).

Each day of the exhibition will be dedicated to a particular theme – there will be the Day of St. Petersburg, the Day of Leningrad Region, the Day of the Farmer, the Day of the Gardener, the Day of Honey, and the Day of Reviving the Traditions of Folk Arts and Crafts.

Agrorus is known for its colourful entertainment programme, featuring concerts by Russian stars, performances by folk groups, master classes, games with audience participation, honey tasting and more.

Russia Hurt by African Swine Fever to the Tune of RUB 2 billion

On 28 August 2012, a round table entitled Problems and Solutions in Veterinary Care for Agricultural Enterprises was held at the XXI Agrorus International Exhibition and Trade Fair. The meeting discussed veterinary services for animal husbandry and aviculture in Russias northwest.


Alternative Energy Sources: the Future of Agriculture

On 28 August, the XXI Agrorus International Agricultural Exhibition and Trade Fair hosted a conference entitled Energy Efficiency in Agriculture: Innovative Development. The conference focused on ways of reducing energy consumption, as well as on the legal and regulatory framework surrounding energy conservation.


Less than 50% of Graduates of St Petersburg State Agrarian University Prepared to Work in Rural Area

This was the conclusion reached by experts who gathered at the Rural Youth and Society Today conference held on 27 August 2012 as part of the XXI Agrorus International Agricultural Exhibition and Trade Fair. The meeting focused on the quality of education available to young people in rural areas, and on efforts to attract young professionals to work in the countryside.


NEVA 2013 and TRANSTEC 2014 projects to be presented at TRANSTEC 2012

ExpoForum, Dolphin Exhibitions (UK), and Transtec Neva Exhibitions are to host a presentation on the NEVA 2013 and TRANSTEC 2014 maritime and transportation exhibitions.


Professional skills competitions to form part of the Russian Industrialist Forum
