Growing prospects for Swedish business in St. Petersburg
Stockholm and St. Petersburg have held discussions on future collaboration in the convention and exhibition industry.
Plans are afoot to make it easier for Swedish businesses and exhibition organisers to take part in exhibitions and conventions organised by ExpoForum in St. Petersburg. The ferry company St. Peter Line and ExpoForum have joined forces to develop travel packages for participants in international exhibitions and other business travellers, which will include ferry tickets from Sweden and Finland and visa-free stays in Russia’s northern capital for up to 72 hours.
This was the topic of discussion among participants at the Modern Exhibition Technology and Software Convention, held on 10 April in Stockholm. In addition, representatives from ExpoForum held talks with their counterparts in the Swedish exhibition industry on organising joint exhibitions and collaborating in other projects with the Stockholm International Fairs and Congress Centre, Stockholmsmassan.
Increasing the capacity of Pulkovo Airport and the construction of the new Convention and Exhibition Centre are key current factors in the development of St. Petersburg.
In 2013, RussiaТs largest boat show, the Baltic Marine Festival, is changing venues: this yearТs exhibition will take place at the Krestovsky Yacht Club. The sporting events will be held at the St. Petersburg Trade UnionsТ River Yacht Club.
On 17 April the 20th Energetika & Elektrotechnika International Specialized Exhibition and the 1st Russian Energy Forum began at Lenexpo.
OAO OGK-2 and Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies signed a contract at the Energetika & Elektrotechnika International Exhibition for the long-term maintenance of the PGU-800 equipment at Kirishi State Regional Power Station Ц the largest combined cycle power plant in Russia.
ExpoForum will be taking part in the Russian-Swedish Modern Exhibition Technology and Software Convention, which is to be held in Stockholm from 10Ц11 April 2013. Participants will discuss current issues and key trends in the development of the exhibition sector.
