Energetika & Elektrotechnika Organizes Forum to Mark Anniversary
On 17 April the 20th Energetika & Elektrotechnika International Specialized Exhibition and the 1st Russian Energy Forum began at Lenexpo.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of energy committees and directors of leading companies in the energy sector, who congratulated the exhibition organizers on the event’s 20th anniversary, noting its dynamic growth and the constantly increasing number of participants. Andrey Gavrilov, Chair of the Leningrad Regional Committee on the Fuel and Energy Complex, and Svetlana Melnikova, Deputy Chair of the St. Petersburg Committee for Energy and Engineering Support, remarked on the exhibition’s high professional standards, adding that energy, as a key sector of the economy, definitely needed an effective platform for the exchange of international experience and commercial contacts.
Ivan Boltenkov, First Deputy Chair of the St. Petersburg Tariff Committee, drew the attention of those present to the importance of strategic targets in the energy industry, one of which was the guarantee of energy stability in Russia. These and other topical issues were discussed by specialists at the 1st Russian Energy Forum, which concentrated on matters concerning the modernization of the Russian energy industry in an international context.
Sergei Voronkov, Executive Director of Expoforum, congratulated new and regular exhibitors on the success of the event and underlined that this year Energetika & Elektrotechnika had attracted 350 companies from 14 countries.
Increasing the capacity of Pulkovo Airport and the construction of the new Convention and Exhibition Centre are key current factors in the development of St. Petersburg.
In 2013, RussiaТs largest boat show, the Baltic Marine Festival, is changing venues: this yearТs exhibition will take place at the Krestovsky Yacht Club. The sporting events will be held at the St. Petersburg Trade UnionsТ River Yacht Club.
OAO OGK-2 and Siemens Gas Turbine Technologies signed a contract at the Energetika & Elektrotechnika International Exhibition for the long-term maintenance of the PGU-800 equipment at Kirishi State Regional Power Station Ц the largest combined cycle power plant in Russia.
Stockholm and St. Petersburg have held discussions on future collaboration in the convention and exhibition industry.
ExpoForum will be taking part in the Russian-Swedish Modern Exhibition Technology and Software Convention, which is to be held in Stockholm from 10Ц11 April 2013. Participants will discuss current issues and key trends in the development of the exhibition sector.
