ExpoForum hosts one of the worldТs leading exhibitions of naval technology and armaments

The official opening of the VI International Maritime Defence Show, one of the top three global events in its sphere, took place today at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex.

This year more than 450 companies from 30 countries worldwide are taking part in the show, filling four pavilions covering a total space of 17,000 sq. m., as well as outdoor areas in the basin of the Gulf of Finland and the Marine Terminal quays. More than 70 official delegations from 50 countries are visiting the show.

The exhibition brings together areas such as boat building and ship building, power installations, marine weapon and armament systems, navigation, communications and operating systems, naval aviation, fleet deployment and provisioning infrastructure, and other new technology and equipment.

In addition, the event will include a conference programme and visits to defence industry facilities. As with previous events, the most enjoyable attractions in the programme are demonstration flights by the advanced aerobatics teams The Russian Knights and The Swifts (Strizhi). At the Marine Terminal quays and the basin of the gulf, 36 ships, cutters and other vessels from the Naval Fleet and the Russian FSB Border Guard Services – as well as from companies represented at the show – are on display. The arrival of three foreign warships is also expected: a submarine and a frigate from the Royal Netherlands Navy and a ship from the Polish Naval fleet. The show will run until 7 July.
