Import Substitution and Localisation Centre

The work of the Import Substitution and Localisation Centre is aimed at promoting Russian manufacturers and forming new sales markets for their products. The overall objective is to encourage a reduction in the share of imported equipment, components and technologies across a range of industrial sectors.

Project goals:

  • promoting the development of local enterprises in St. Petersburg and the Northwest Federal District;
  • strengthening interregional ties among Russian manufacturers;
  • increasing the share of domestically-produced goods incorporating the use of innovative MIC technologies in the civilian area.

Pavilion 4 at Lenexpo will feature a permanently-operating exhibition exposition of industrial products and technologies, as well as conference halls, a business-contact exchange, and meeting rooms.

A separate area will be designated for the accommodation of R&D institutes, universities and colleges, as well as for business-infrastructure organisations – banks, consulting-, insurance- and leasing-companies. Particular attention will be devoted to technoparks, business incubators and innovative-technology SEZs.

Municipal agencies and publically-funded institutions will be able to announce order placements at their exposition. Thus, in tandem with import substitution, the function of state procurements will be furthered, and a core base of innovative advancements will be formed.

Structure of the exposition and business zone at the Import Substitution and Localisation Centre:

  • zone for the exposition of St. Petersburg procurements;
  • state corporations – strategic clients and suppliers;
  • cluster exposition;
  • business-contact centre;
  • consulting centre;
  • convention zone;
  • industrial-subcontracting zone.

The structure of the Import Substitution and Localisation Centre embraces the cluster principle of economic development, encompassing all of the elements deemed essential to the primary stages in the lifecycle of product development and promotion: manufacturing launch – certification – mass production – state procurement (R&D – RTD – SPA).
