“Think globally, act locally!”: ExpoForum hosts a celebration of Global Exhibitions Day.

On 7 June 2017, the global exhibitions community celebrates Global Exhibitions Day. ExpoForum International employees joined the initiative and celebrated #GED2017 in true St. Petersburg fashion: in high style and high spirits.

A flash mob with balloons, sparklers and a cake, organized by company employees in the inner courtyard of the ExpoForum complex, was broadcast live in a video conference with the members of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF).

RUEF President and ExpoForum International Vice President Sergey Alexeev greeted his colleagues in a video link from Lenexpo. On behalf of the international professional community, the Russian audience was welcomed by Kai Hattendorf, Managing Director of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry – UFI, Paris.

For her part, the Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs at ExpoForum International, Elena Ublieva, used the ExpoForum platform to congratulate union members on their professional holiday. “I wish you all bold and interesting projects, pavilions packed with people, and invite everyone to St. Petersburg for our White Nights!” she said.

ExpoForum employees cut the cake – prepared to order in the style of Global Exhibitions Day, lit fireworks and launched several balloons into the sky as a symbol of peace, unity and prosperity. High spirits were ensured by the sunny weather – a rare phenomenon for the Northern Capital.

Part of the Global Exhibitions Day festivities at ExpoForum featured a social media campaign. Employees published posts and photos with the hashtags #GED2017 and #I_work_at_ExpoForum.

As you may recall, Global Exhibitions Day was first celebrated on 8 June 2016 at the Initiative of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). It was deigned to unite representatives of the exhibitions industry in different countries.

The motto of Global Exhibitions Day in 2017 was “Think globally, act locally!,” with special emphasis placed this time on human capital: developing competencies within the industry, sharing experience and knowledge. The event is intended to showcase the positive impact the exhibitions industry has on the business, innovation, employment numbers and investment attractiveness of the regions.

The leadership and workforce of ExpoForum International warmly congratulates the company’s colleagues and partners on the holiday!
