The Chinese Business Centre is the unique professional platform for developing trust-based partnership and high-quality interaction between key stakeholders and authorities of Russia and China, which is designed to promote and support the Russian-Chinese partnership in the field of trade relations, the industry of meetings and exhibitions, tourism, culture and art, as well as innovative projects and initiatives that provide mutually beneficial solutions.

The official opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the relevant executive authorities of Russia and China, large state-owned enterprises and business communities: Sergey Voronkov, CEO of the EF-International Ltd, President of the Association for Promotion of Business Relations Development “Chinese Business Centre”, Aleksandr Gorokhov, Deputy General Director of the EF-International Ltd, Vladimir Komissarov, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Russia in Shanghai, Maksim Fedotov, Head of the Russian Export Centre in China, Mr. Shi Xiaoping, Director of the Department of Coordination and Exhibitions of the Shanghai Commercial Committee, Mr. Li Weixin, Director of the China International Import Exhibition, Mr. San Jingmin, President of the Shanghai Industrial Association of Conferences and Exhibitions, Mr. Bi Peiwen, President of the Donghao Lansheng Group, and Ms. Guo Li, Executive Director of Zhonghe Tianyou Industrial Co., Ltd.

Ms. Lin Yuxuan, Head of the Office’s representative office of the Associations in Shanghai, addressed the guests of the event with her welcoming speech. In her speech, she paid special attention to new prospects opening up in development of bilateral business relations based on competences of the tourism industry at the present time: “We believe that for a number of reasons, tourism relations between China and Russia will develop rapidly this year. Therefore, we are strengthening our work in this area”, she said, explaining that in addition to servicing trade and government delegations, the Centre intends to offer its services to the wider audience through the previously established travel company.

As part of the business program, the presentation of the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre services and brand was held, including the international development strategy and plans to expand intersectoral cooperation: “It is quite obvious that China becomes a major strategic partner and a key area for international cooperation. Now that the border is opened and flights are restored, it is very important to restore all these relations. Moreover, taking into account new economic vectors and areas to be developed now, it is necessary to establish direct contacts accordingly”, Sergei Voronkov said.

The dominant feature of the official event was the ceremony of signing the accession agreement of the Shanghai Association of Exhibition Business in the International Consortium of the MICE Industry, created on the initiative of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. The document was signed by Sergey Voronkov, the RUEF President, CEO of the EF-International Ltd, and Chen Knyanshin, Chairman of the Shanghai Association of Exhibition Business.

The event was highly appreciated by representatives of the largest Chinese companies and leading experts in the PR, marketing, technology and creative industries, including Tang Cultural Media, Shanghai East Star Event Management Co. Ltd., Shanghai Exhibition Information Technology Inc., etc.

The Association for Promotion of Business Relations “Chinese Business Centre” has been operating since 2015, and is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Saint Petersburg. Its main activity is aimed at additional stimulation of trade and economic relations between Russia and China, including implementation of tasks of the “One Belt, One Road” project and the Eurasian Economic Union. The international Consortium of the MICE Industry was created on the initiative of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, and is the voluntary industry association of market participants of the BRICS, SCO and CIS and other interested regions on the basis of common business interests.

The main goal of the MICE Industry International Consortium is to organize and implement mutually beneficial initiatives on supporting congress and exhibition activities and the event industry in the participating countries. Partners will jointly organize business events, conduct industry research, and implement educational projects. Mutual integration in projects, cooperation in organizing exhibitions, congresses, meetings and business trips is expected.

Today, the organization includes companies from Belarus, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan and South Africa.
