SPIHF-2022 as the platform for building healthy future
Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg Oleg Ergashev informed on significance of the Forum for developing the city’s and the country’s.healthcare system.
“At the Plenary Session of the Saint Petersburg International Health Forum, the speakers noted the need for integrating all processes related to citizens’ health protection. This is not only medicine, but also ecology, clean water, healthy nutrition. All this needs to be developed so that our cities might be healthy. Everyone participating in the Health Forum can get necessary contacts to establish interaction. For example, here, manufacturers of domestic wheelchairs are represented, which, unfortunately, is especially relevant in current realities”, Ergashev said.
The Vice-Governor also stated about plans to create in the city new pharmaceutical clusters, new enterprises for medical equipment production, and all these projects need to be discussed on the large platform in the professional environment. Since close interaction of medical professionals, specialists in the industrial sector, in medical tourism, and public authorities allows building healthy future.
Dmitry Lisovets, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Health Care Committee, told how digitalization in medicine will help identify hereditary diseases even at the first days of life.
“Saint Petersburg plays a key role in the medicine digitalization process. For example, neonatal screening of all children born after January 01 will be carried out in the city, for the purpose of detecting hereditary diseases. We actively cooperate with the Ministry of Health Care, learn our medical information system, which operates in the Saint Petersburg genetic center, maternity hospitals, antenatal clinics, so that since January 1, all the results will have been transmitted to the single digital platform”, Lisovets said.
Sergey Voronkov, CEO of the EF-International Ltd, assessed changes in the composition of the Forum participants due to geopolitics.
“The Forum geography has changed because of the geopolitical situation. At the SPIHF-2022, almost all constituent entities of the Russian Federation are represented within the association “Healthy Cities, Districts and Settlements”. Among the participants, there are the EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus), China, representatives of the Middle East, as well. All our friendly countries take part in the Forum one way or another – either in person or in distant format. Many events are broadcast online, so participants from all over the world can watch the Forum. We have just discussing the SPIHF geography with the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Zapevalov, and have come to conclusion that it corresponds to the political situation”, said Voronkov.
