Thousands of reenactors were fighting in LenExpo
On the cost of the Finnish Gulf, a middle ages fair settled where antique jewellery, weapon, and household equipment were introduced. Besides, there were an industry exhibition of historical reconstruction of various epochs and interactive zones with craft master-classes and sites for active leisure.
Thematic exposition united historical clubs, workshops, fencing sections and festival sites on the reconstruction of the 2017 season. There were many ancient fun activities introduced for children- table games, historical quizzes, and fights on wooden Bucephalus horses. Dressed in armour and armed with a shield, riders stroke with a pike Saracens- special rotating targets.
The sports program of the festival contained several nominations on historical fencing and middle ages fight, including reconstructing battles of Vikings epoch. For two days of the festival, a tournament of armoured warriors and middle ages fights on a large arena were pleasing guests.
Youth in three categories – 12-13, 14-15, and 16-17 years old- competed in the Championship of Russia on sports sword, modern sword fight and HMB Soft. In such duels, imitations of an ancient weapon from modern elastic materials are used.
On the site, historical interactive and exhibition zones were organized. Besides, old items fair, theatrical performances with fable characters, concerts of musician collectives performing middle ages music, and historical lectures were present there.
