17th Congress of Builders held in St. Petersburg
The main industry forum of the northern capital was attended by Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, Nikolai Linchenko, Vice-Governor for Construction, and representatives of the City Government and the Administration of the Leningrad Region. Leading experts in the construction industry of the two regions gave presentations and reports.
Before the start of the Congress, the presenter Alexander Vakhmistrov announced the awarding of a badge of honour for “service to St. Petersburg” to Vladimir Yakovlev, President of the Russian Union of Builders, for his contribution to the development of the construction industry and the northern capital as a whole and in connection with his 75th birthday.
The work of the Congress was opened with a speech from Alexander Beglov. The Governor made great mention the development of housing, the development of social infrastructure, the formation of a comfortable urban environment and road construction.
During the second part of the 17th Congress of St. Petersburg Builders, a report on the activities of the Union of Construction Associations and Organizations (UCAO) in the past year and a plan for next year were approved, as well as working documents for the Union. The powers of the Executive Director of UCAO Oleg Britov have been extended at the direction of the Congress. Alexander Vakhmistrov, the initiator of the creation of the UCAO and the permanent curator throughout the entire work of the Union, was elected President of the Union of Construction Associations and Organizations.
Alexander Vakhmistrov noted that the Union will continue to organize effective dialogue between the construction business and the government and will actively interact with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and the Vice-Governor for Construction, Nikolai Linchenko.
