The naval power of the country is being demonstrated in "Lenexpo"

On July 11, the opening ceremony of the International Naval salon was held with the participation of an acting governor Alexander Beglov, a USC president Alexei Rakhmanov, a deputy prime minister of UIMC issues Yuri Borisov, and a deputy minister of industry and trade Oleg Ryazantsev. In total, 49 delegations from 35 countries, 353 companies with the latest technologies, capable of conquering the depths of the world ocean devices, and with the most modern surface ships arrived to participate in the Salon.

Marine salon is one of the largest international events. In the days of INS-2019 in “Lenexpo”, almost four dozen ships, boats and vessels are moored at the pier of the Marine station, as well as in the waters of the Neva river and the Gulf of Finland. There are impressive in size objects like frigate «Admiral Kasatonov», corvette «Stoikiy», small rocket ships «Mytishchi» and «Serpukhov», and landing craft on an air cushion «Eugene Kocheshkov».

«Over the past two years, St. Petersburg shipbuilders launched five ships, four new ones were laid and three were handed over to customers. The St. Petersburg shipbuilding cluster is in demand, has the most advanced technologies and not only builds ships, but also supplies equipment and advanced systems», - Alexander Beglov, the acting governor of St. Petersburg, stated at the opening ceremony.

The commander-in-chief of the navy Nikolai Evmenov also addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. «The presence of the navy means the power of the country, being a strong state. At the sites you can see everything new that the Russian defense complex has, you are able to get acquainted with the breakthrough ideas of our foreign colleagues», - Evmenov said.

A director of the shipbuilding industry department of the Ministry of industrial trade Boris Kabakov told that over 20 events, including four scientific conferences, will be held within the business program of the Salon. Visitors’ attention was directed to a new air-independent submarine «Amur-1650» by central constructing bureau «Rubin». The submarine has a smaller displacement compared to the submarines of «kilo» class. Its distinctive features are the possibility of firing a volley missile at marine and ground targets (up to 6 missiles in a volley), the presence of modern electronic weapons and a hydro acoustic complex with a unique direction finding antenna. And most importantly- the boat is not nuclear, its main power source is a battery. «It is the first in Russia, — shared Igor Molchanov, a chief designerThere are similar in Germany, Sweden, and China. The boat itself is ready. Now it is at the stage of «bringing everything to mind». We need such submarines for use in inland seas and near coastal zones

Participants and visitors of the Salon can see the unmanned boat of «Skanda» type, a large hydrographic boat of project 19920 «Eugene Gnitsevich», a multifunctional modular boat of project «Valery Rozhdestvensky», a raid diving boat of project 23040 «RVC-1064»,
