On December 5, 2024, an educational session dedicated to the implementation of research projects on Arctic topics was held within the framework of the Natural Sciences Forum.

The event was organized by the St. Petersburg Committee for Arctic Affairs.

I am sure that the participants’ attention will be focused on the most pressing issues, including the Arctic, and the creation of new formats for the more effective development of Russian science», Elena Aseeva, First Deputy Chairman of the St. Petersburg Committee on Arctic Affairs said.

The St. Petersburg Committee on Arctic Affairs, together with the Institute of Regional Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held an educational session for representatives of ten institutions of higher education in St. Petersburg engaged in the implementation of research projects on Arctic subjects.

The experts were Konstantin Klokov, Professor of the Department of Regional Politics and Political Geography at St. Petersburg State University, Igor Myasnikov, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University, Natalia Roslyakova, Senior Researcher at the Trapeznikov Institute of Management Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Lyudmila Dorofeeva, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Regional Economics Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The main topic of the meeting was the work of the Russian Science Foundation and the St. Petersburg Science Foundation, in particular, the specifics of applying for grants from young professionals interested in Arctic research.

The event is aimed at the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge, promoting the integration of science with education, business and production, as well as the introduction of new scientific and technological achievements.
