From Space Monitoring Systems to Digital Twins and Flexible Smart Pipes: Innovations for Gas Industry

The Corporate Exhibition Display of Gazprom PJSC «Import Substitution in Gas industry» was launched on the sidelines of SPIGF 2024. The exhibitors – the industry leaders, equipment manufacturers, technologies development companies and scientific organizations – presented innovative solutions for the needs of the gas industry. Due to cooperation and introduction of high technologies companies develop global energy projects on each production stage.
The stand of Gazprom Space Systems JSC was located in the centre of the exposition. The company presented two variants of mobile automate work station (MAWS). This system allows processing of aerial monitoring data in the field to reveal the violations during operation of main gas pipelines. «We faced the problem of long data transfer from the moment of shooting till the customer received the results. MAWS solves this problem allowing the team on site to carry out a flight, download data, automatically process it and to obtain the result in the form of a map with the violations marked on it», – said Prokhor Kondratyev, Chief Specialist of the Department of Data Processing for Monitoring of Construction of Gazprom Space Systems JSC. It is planned to carry out final testing of the system after the exhibition.
At the stand of Energomash-VTS LLC visitors could see a sample of flexible polymer-reinforced pipe with conductors for different purposes integrated into the body: transmission of electrical energy, information signals, including optical fiber. «This multifunctional «cable filling» allows not only to transport oil, gas and mixtures, but also to heat fluid, to transfer signals from different sensors, visible signals, and also to operate remote equipment», – explained Sergey Golyshev, manager of test laboratory. Uniqueness of the development is in presence of barrier layer preventing from penetration of gas to reinforcement layer that increases corrosive resistance and lifelength of pipe.
In the area of exposition «Import Substitution in Gas Industry» Zyfra company presented its product – digital twin of gas condensate asset. «It is a completely domestic development using ZIIoT platform as the database of real time. It executes tasks of information analysis system for asset management uniting all the processes – from formation and wellsites to gas collecting system and complex gas treatment plant – in one application for effective management», – said the representatives of the company.
United Engine Corporation JSC (UEC) demonstrated gas turbine engine of new generation
AL-41ST-25 being the successor of AL-31ST. «The engine got the best qualities of the previous model and received new technical solutions and that allowed to create the whole range of gas turbine engines on its bases. A low-emission combustion chamber was implemented ensuring level of emissions that meet international standards», – was noted at UEC stand. This engine is used in gas compressor units for transportation of natural gas.
Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg LLC presented supervisory control and data acquisition system of organization of six types of hazardous work. «The system recognizes complex types of work and provides the user with necessary forms of consent documents. It is the domestic software product working on Russian operating systems RED OS and Astra Linux», – told the representatives of the company. The goal of the system is installation of additional safety barriers for minimization of accident hazards and emergency. The complex also includes the portable gas analyzer «Microsens M5» and the industrial tablet MIG T8X.
Layout plan of underground equipment complex for gas output at the continental shelf of the RF was demonstrated at the stand of Izmeron Plant NPF LLC.
It includes wellhead cutoff valve, inhibitor supply valve, columnwise axial disconnector with inductive coupling, double action packer and hydraulic fracturing coupling. «Uniqueness of our development is in integrated layout plan of upper and lower completion, provision of integrity of well for safety and efficiency of output. All the equipment is designed using domestic technologies and is completely produced in Russia and that contributes to energy security and sovereignty of state», – the company underlined.
Burlak company brought to the exhibition six- and eight-wheeled all-terrain vehicles with low-pressure tires, as well as trailers and semi-trailers for them. «Our all-terrain vehicles are used in a variety of industries, from cargo transportation and tourism to mineral extraction. Their advantages include high cross-country performance, load capacity of up to 5 tons on firm ground, autonomy of more than 2,500 km off-road without refueling, as well as a comfortable 1.8-meter-high passenger compartment equipped with independent heaters, kitchen area, and electric power receptacles», – representatives of the company explained. 13 modifications of all-terrain vehicles and 60 modifications of trailers were certified. Work on new versions with a hydraulically operated lift and well surveying laboratories is underway. Burlak all-terrain vehicles are already used by large resource-extracting companies, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and other government institutions.
At the stand of «Gas Industry» magazine, which is already 67 years old, visitors could learn about the publication’s achievements. «For the last 30 years we have been working with the support of Gazprom. We publish 1.8 mln. copies annually and our online audience reaches 300 thousand people. The magazine provides exclusive content from closed production sites and interviews with industry executives», – the publication employees shared.
Exposition «Import Substitution in Gas Industry» demonstrates how modern domestic technologies and innovations are integrated into gas industry promoting its development and strengthening energy security of the country. Participants and guests of the Forum could get acquainted with advanced Russian developments aimed at increasing of efficiency, security and environmental friendliness of production and transportation of gas.
