On March 12–14, EXPOFORUM will host the 24th International Forum «Ecology of the Big City»

The project will be participated by over 5,000 visitors from more than 60 regions and 10 foreign countries.
The key themes of this year’s Forum are «Industrial Ecology» and «Regional Ecological Potential».
Representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Federal State Budgetary Institution Roszapovedcenter, and the Government of St. Petersburg are invited to take part in the Forum.
For the first time, «Ecology of the Big City» is supported by the Committee of State Environmental Supervision of the Leningrad Region (Eco-militia). The Exhibition will feature open reception rooms for the Russian Ecological Society (RES), Eco-militia, and the Nevsky Ecological Operator.
The exposition with its area of 3,500 m2 will be participated by 80 companies from over 10 regions of Russia. The Exhibition sections will cover such areas as the regional ecological potential, industrial ecology, environmental protection and services, environmental monitoring, waste management, water supply, sanitation, water treatment and purification, specially protected natural areas, the special project «Urban Environment: Ecology, Comfort, Transformation».
The exhibition will feature collective regional stands from the Republic of Karelia, Perm Krai, Chelyabinsk Region, Kirov Region, and Leningrad Region.
Their developments will be presented collectively by the universities: Higher Art and Technical University, Pushkin Leningrad State University, St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, Russian State Hydrometeorological University.
Together with the Government of St. Petersburg, the large-scale congress program has been developed for representatives and experts in ecology, eco-monitoring, industrial ecology, environmental education and science. In total, it includes over 40 events on waste management, ecomonitoring, issues of eliminating accumulated environmental damage in the regions of the Russian Federation, changes in environmental legislation, law enforcement practices in the field of industrial ecology, development and conservation of the nature reserve resources, urban landscaping, etc.
The participation of delegations in the events of the business program was confirmed by 16 regions, 11 of which will be represented by the heads of executive authorities. Efimov, Minister of Forestry, Environmental Protection and Nature Management (Samara Region), E.K. Kim, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology (Smolensk Region), D.A. Somov, Acting Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources (Tambov Region), I.Yu. Gilev, Minister of Ecology (Chelyabinsk Region), N.O. Artamonov, Deputy Minister, Head of the Environmental Management Department (Kaluga Region), B.V. Meerovich, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Ecology (Sevastopol), A.N. Kovalevsky, Head of the Service for Control and Supervision in Environmental Protection, Wildlife and Forest Relations (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra), R.E. Agaeva, Chairman of the State Environmental Supervision Committee (Leningrad Region).
The main event will be the Plenary Session «Sustainable Megalopolis Environment: How to Unlock the Ecological Potential».
For the first time, the Forum «Eco-Monitoring Technologies» will be held as part of «Ecology of the Big City», and the special program on ecological tourism will be implemented.
More than 500 meetings of the largest customers and suppliers of products and technological solutions in the environmental field will be held within the framework of the Business Contact Centre (BCC) organized at the Forum «Ecology of the Big City», and the presentation day of innovative solutions in the ecology will take place.
On March 14, the Forum will host participants of Youth Day.
