On November 26–27, 2024, the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted the St. Petersburg Congress «Vocational Education, Science and Innovation in the 21st Century» in conjunction with the St. Petersburg International Scientific and Educational Salon (November 26–28).

This year’s congress is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg State University. The Congress has been held annually since 2007 and is held as part of the St. Petersburg Week of Science and Vocational Education. The event is organized by the Committee on Science and Higher Education.

Specialists, experts, scientists, and student teachers will gather to discuss topical issues and develop proposals for the development of the system of vocational education, science, and innovation, as well as to bring together the positions of the scientific and educational sphere and the business community in training professional personnel, planning and executing scientific and technical research and development, and implementing innovative activities.

Among the main events of the St. Petersburg Congress «Vocational Education, Science and Innovation in the 21st Century» in 2024 are the round table «Modern College: Lean technologies in key business processes», the round table «Regional Scientific and Technical Policy. Tasks and ways of development», round table «Ensuring the quality of Russian education in a multipolar world: modern challenges and development vectors».

The main event of the Congress will be the planar session «The role of science and vocational education in improving the quality of human life», which will be held on November 26 from 11:00 to 13:00.

As part of the Congress and taking into account the significance of the anniversary events for Russian science and education in St. Petersburg, the final of the competition «300 years of the Russian Academy of Sciences and St. Petersburg State University. The history in the faces». The participants of the competition are students and postgraduates of educational institutions of higher education, secondary vocational education, and scientific organizations located in St. Petersburg.

The Saint Petersburg Scientific and Educational Salon took place jointly with the Congress, on November 26–28. The key theme of the Salon 2024 is «The possibilities of education and science for the accelerated growth of the national economy and the development of Russia’s spiritual and moral potential».

The Salon will feature an exhibition of educational, research and innovation activities of educational organizations located in St. Petersburg, implementing programs of higher, secondary professional and additional professional education, scientific and innovative organizations, as well as other organizations whose activities are related to training and employment.

Strategic sessions will be held at the Salon site, as well as presentation, business and interactive zones, where the city’s leading educational organizations will present modern training programs, information on admission rules, specifics of training, and new developments in the field of science.

The grand opening of the St. Petersburg International Scientific and Educational Salon will take place on November 26 at 13:00.
