This year, the scale of the SPIGF exceeded the wildest expectations of the organizers: among the participants there are more than 500 largest market players, both Russian and foreign; as part of the business program, 90 events are scheduled (conferences, workshops, round tables, presentations, etc.), where issues relevant to the industry will be discussed. “We predict that in four days the site will receive up to 30 thousand visitors from more than 50 countries,” said Sergey Voronkov, General Director of ExpoForum International.

Every year, the Forum program is developed taking into account the most current trends in the gas industry. Today, the main trends are import substitution, new projects in the field of production and use of liquefied natural gas (LNG), issues of exploration and production of hydrocarbons, breakthrough technologies and much more.

The key theme of SPIGF-2023 which will be discussed during the plenary session is “Transformation of the global natural gas market: challenges and development paths”. The Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom PJSC Aleksey Miller, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolay Shulginov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar, Vice President of the China National Petroleum Corporation Xie Jun will take part in the main discussion.

Among the speakers of the Forum are First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Sorokin, head of the G.O.R.K.I. Center, expert analyst in the field of energy, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria Karin Kneissl, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D. N. Chernyshenko Fedor Kroshin, General Director of the State Corporation Roscosmos Yuri Borisov. In addition, for the first time, the State Corporation Rosatom will take part in the SPIGF.

Traditionally, during the Forum, representatives of federal and regional authorities of the Russian Federation and major international industry companies will tour the exposition. The guests will be shown the latest high-tech developments of Russian scientists in the oil and gas industry, thanks to which the implementation of the most ambitious and breakthrough projects becomes possible.

Year after year, the geography of Forum participants is replenished with new regions and countries. As Sergey Voronkov noted, this time, compared to previous years, the representation of countries from the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Arab world has significantly expanded. Companies from the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Iran, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Italy, Armenia, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Serbia will present their achievements at the exhibition. A number of significant international events will take place, for example, the “Russia – Asia” and “Russia – Latin America” business dialogues.

Particular attention in the SPIGF-2023 program is paid to events with the participation of young professionals. Youth Day and Young Oil and Gas Industrialist Day were organized for them. The Forum will feature a Business Contact Center, which is one of the most popular venues of the event. Business and informal meetings, signing of agreements and much more take place there. This year's Business Contact Center will traditionally bring together the largest players in the oil and gas industry, their potential suppliers and contractors from different countries.

Separately, it is worth noting the exhibitions held within SPIGF-2023. Hundreds of companies will present their advanced technologies, equipment and services. All areas of the exhibition pavilions and passage are occupied by the exposition, and a large outdoor exposition has also been organized, where the largest exhibits will be presented, including the latest Russian drilling equipment.

Participants will have an opportunity to visit the international specialized exhibitions “InGAS Stream 2023 – Innovations in the Gas Industry”, “Gas Engine Fuel”, “ROS-GAZ-EXPO”, and the Corporate Exhibition “Import Substitution in the Gas Industry”. In addition, the Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, Penza regions, Perm Territory and the Republic of Tatarstan have presented collective stands. They show the production potential of the fuel and energy complex of their regions.

On the afternoon of November 2, Forum participants will have an opportunity to get autographs from Russian football stars, and in the evening there will be a gala reception with a buffet and entertainment program at the Gazprom Arena.

Without them, such a large-scale event wouldn’t be impossible,” Sergei Voronkov says. – “And we won’t stop here. SPIGF-2023 demonstrates the highest level of organization, and in a few years I see it as the largest industry forum in the world. We will also hold industry events in other regions of Russia, taking into account their features, and thereby expand our geography. I am confident that SPIGF will become a catalyst for innovative processes, a real forge of bright ideas and important decisions that set the direction for the development of the global gas industry”.
