“Welcome to Saint Petersburg!” – the road show was successfully held in China
The events jointly organized by the Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development and the City Tourist Information Bureau together with the EF-International Ltd attracted the increased attention of the industry business and the authorities of the Celestial Empire.
For the first time since the pandemic, the tourist opportunities of the city on the Neva were comprehensively presented to Chinese tourism companies. The emphasis was placed on the special atmosphere of Saint Petersburg, as well as the variety of offers: every traveler will be able to find a way of vacation to his/her taste and be sure to plan the next trip to the City of White Nights. The roadshow was participated by leading Saint Petersburg tour operators, hotels, museums and cruise companies, who showed their willingness to receive Chinese guests, and interest in resuming the tourist flow from this country.
Chinese colleagues, in turn, demonstrated increased attention to this Russian tourist region. About 200 representatives of the tourism industry from the largest cities of China learned about the tourist resources of hospitable Saint Petersburg. Honored guests of the event were Andriyan Dorzhiev, the First Secretary, Head of the Humanitarian Cooperation Group of the Russian Embassy in China, Dmitry Lukyantsev, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Shanghai, Vera Prelovskaya, Representative of the Trade Mission of Russia in China, Gennady Uzyanov, Representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, Iren Chao, Head of the Shanghai Department of Tourism and Culture, Artur Galimullin, Attache Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Guangzhou.
The events contribute to strengthening cooperation between the Saint Petersburg and Chinese tourism businesses, increasing the inbound tourist flow from China to the cultural capital of Russia.
The peculiarities of the road show were the partners’ lively response, as well as consideration of specific features of the requests of the target audience in China.
