The Sky for the Children!
On 22 February, the Model Airplane Games were held in pavilion F of the Expoforum convention and exhibition centre.
In total, more than 250 sportspeople from St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Moscow, Moscow Region and Yaroslavl launched their model planes towards the ceiling of Expoforum. The age of participants ranged from 6 to 70, and the challenges were separated into three age groups.
Competitions were held for model plane classes F4D, F1D and F1M on flight distance and there was an individual and team challenge using rubber-powered OP-500 models and projectile gliders called ‘Best Family Team’. The competitions were organised for Defender of the Fatherland Day in accordance with the requirements of international rules of the FAI.
