The Emperors’ Sleigh and unique retromobiles: EXPOFORUM opens «Oldtimer Gallery»
For three days, Pavilion G with its area of 13,000 m2 will turn into a real city of the past, filled with hundreds of amazing exhibits. «Oldtimer Gallery» is a place for a family to spend their weekend with pleasure and use.
This year, as part of the Exhibition, the Festival of Russia’s Technical Museums will be held under the motto «From carriage to rocket!». Among dozens of rare museum exhibits to come from various parts of the country, the Exhibition will feature the phaeton of Aleksander I and the spacecraft «Soyuz», Empress Maria Feodorovna’s sleigh and the research vehicle «Venera 4», a 19th-century baby stroller and a Mars rover of the late 20th century.
Showpieces of the Exhibition are unique and inimitable: these luxury cars and motorcycles once won elegance contests and the most difficult races, were conquerors of hearts and the inaccessible dream for entire generations, experienced years of oblivion and changed their owners. Now, having literally reborn from the ruins, they have become famous again: this time – in the world of connoisseurs of antiquity.
The Exhibition will be truly interactive: one can sit in the cabin of a carriage driver and «drive» a radio-controlled race car along the special track, shoot at the toy tankodrome, and spin a real trolleybus «steering wheel», visit the imperial carriage, ride a mini-tram and participate in a real retro rally – and all this without leaving the Exhibition hall!
«The future belongs to dreamers!» – the exposition of concept cars and prototypes from the 1980s and 1990s will become one of the points of attraction of the Exhibition. The most daring and ambitious projects of the Soviet past will be shown here.
The Lenfilm Studio’s movie-actor cars will not leave indifferent both viewers of old cult films and modern popular TV series.
The Museum of the Special Purpose Garage of the Federal Security Service of Russia will show several motorcycles from the Honorary Escort, including the newest electric bike AURUS Merlon with acceleration to
100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Previously, this motorcycle was not shown to the general public.
You can see an interesting historical and technical phenomenon – the restored «car of three centuries». The remains of one of the first Russian cars of the 19th century, carefully restored using 20th-century components and 21st-century technologies.
